Before you can be able to create your LinkedIn page, you first need to create your profile. In order to do this, you need to go to the LinkedIn sign up page > enter your first and last name > enter your email address > then choose a password you want to use > click “Join Now”. But be attentive if you already have a LinkedIn account. If you do, you need to click “Sign In” and not “Join Now”. All you need is to click on www.linkedin.com and then enter your email address and password.

  • At first you need to click on the “Work icon” located at the top right corner of your LinkedIn homepage.
  • Click “Create a Company Page.
  • After that, Select the Page type you want to create from options like; Small business, Medium to large business, Showcase page, and Educational institution.
  • Then enter your Page identity, Company or Institution details, and Profile details information.
  • Check the verification box to confirm you have the right to act on behalf of that company or school in the creation of the page.
  • Once you’re done, Click on “Create page.” A red error message may appear if your LinkedIn account has recently been created.
  • Then click “Start building your page” to confirm that your page has been created successfully.

Now that you’ve successfully created your account and a page, we’ll now teach you how you can be able to publish articles on LinkedIn. The platform allows members to publish articles about their expertise and interests.

The ability to publish articles is available to all members. The tool isn’t currently available on mobile devices, but you can access it from a desktop computer or mobile web on a tablet.

  • At first you need to click on “Write an article” located near the top of your homepage. This takes you to the publishing tool. Or you can decide to scroll down the page where you’ll see the “Write an article” button appear next to Like, Comment, and Share in the top bar, below the LinkedIn navigation bar.
  • Click on the “Headline” field to type the headline of your article.
  • Then click on the “Write Here” field to type the content of your article.
  • You can add images to your article for visual impact, and also add a cover image.
  • After that, click on the “Publish” button in the top right corner of the page.
  • A pop-up window will appear where you’ll have to click “Publish” or click the “Cancel” icon to continue editing your article.
  • Once you finally publish your article, you can edit and delete anytime.

The Privacy & Settings page allows you to manage your account settings, update your privacy and security settings, and set your preferences for how frequently you’re contacted by and through LinkedIn.

  • Click on the “Me” icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  • Click on the “View profile.”
  • Then scroll down to the section you’d like to update, such as your introduction card, Experience section, or Skills & Endorsements.
  • Click the “Edit” icon at the top right corner.
  • Then you need to start making changes in the fields provided.
  • After that, click “Save.”

You can add, change, edit and remove your LinkedIn profile photo from the introduction card located on your profile. You can also set the visibility to determine who sees it, and who to be invited. To manage your profile photo, follow the steps below:

  • Click on the “Me” icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  • Click on “View profile.”
  • Click on the profile photo in your introduction card.
  • The “Add photo” pop-up window will then appear. Then you need to click on “Use camera” to take a shot using your device’s camera.
  • After that, click “Upload photo” to select an image from your library.

Then to edit your photo, once the Edit Photo pop-window appears, you need to click on the “Change photo” button and follow the procedures.

  • Drag to reposition the photo.
  • Use the “Zoom” toggle to change the size of the photo.
  • Then use the “Straighten” toggle or click on the “Rotate” icon to change the photo’s position. You can as well crop the photo, use photo filters, adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation, and then modify the visibility of your photo.
  • After that, click on “Save photo.”

To adjust notifications sent to your network about profile changes from your Settings and Privacy page, you need to follow the steps below:

  • Click on the “Me” icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  • Select Settings & Privacy from the drop-down.
  • Click the “Privacy” tab at the top of the page.
  • Under the How others see your LinkedIn activity section, click on “Change” which is located next to Share job changes, education changes, and work anniversaries from your profile.
  • Then switch the toggle to ‘Yes or No.’
  • After that, your changes will be saved automatically.

Note: You can also adjust your notification preferences while you’re making changes to your profile from a computer by using the toggle under the Share with network section.

Once your profile has been edited, it may take up to 48 hours for your network to be notified. Anyone that views your profile will see your edits as soon as you save them.

You can see who’s viewed your profile on several ways. Notifications will be sent to you based on the viewer’s name, headline, location, and industry.

  • First click on the “Me” icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  • Select “Settings & Privacy” from the drop-down menu.
